Why are you protesting? What are your demands?
We are protesting to protect Dol Ka Badh, a vital green space. Our demand is to cancel the mall project and preserve the forest.
Why can't jaipur loose some green cover?
Jaipur already has half of minimum 20% dol ka badh is 10% of that green cover. Loosing that means one step back in alrady scarce situation!
Isn’t building a mall good for economic development?
Not at the cost of irreplaceable nature. Sustainable development doesn’t destroy ecosystems.
Can’t we grow trees elsewhere?
Replanting doesn’t replace a mature forest. Dol Ka Badh took decades to grow and supports diverse life. Also, what about local oxygen availability?
Can’t the trees be shifted?
Transplantation rarely works on this scale. Most trees don’t survive, and the ecosystem is still lost. Again local benefit point still remain. The residens need trees in this patch.
Who does this forest benefit?
Everyone. It cools the area, stores groundwater, cleans air, and provides a home to wildlife. The government.
Isn’t this land legally marked for development?
Life comes first before economic development.
What’s your alternative plan?
Use already degraded or vacant land for development—leave green spaces untouched.
Are you against development?
No. We support development that doesn’t destroy nature heritage. Our demands are well within the range of what urban guidelines prescribe.
What will happen if the forest is removed?
Rising temperatures, water scarcity, more air pollution, loss of biodiversity, and worse urban flooding.
AQI will worsen by 50-100 points
This is equal to smoking 2 cigerettes everyday
Healthcare cost could increase by 50 crore every year.
Is this just about trees?
No. It's about an entire ecosystem—plants, animals, birds, insects, humans and the climate balance.
How many trees will be cut?
Over 2000 mature trees—some decades old. Many more smaller plants and habitats will be lost.
What if trees are preserved? And buildings are made on empty land?
We need grass and non-concrete land also. it prevents flooding.
Why can’t the mall be built somewhere else?
There are other non-forest, unused plots. We want responsible land use, not short-sighted development.
Isn’t the forest degraded already?
No. It’s still a thriving green patch with native trees and active wildlife presence.
What about compensation or CSR activities by the developers?
CSR doesn’t replace nature. It’s not a swap—it’s a loss.
Are you blocking progress?
We’re blocking destruction. Real progress includes preserving the environment.
Do people even use this forest?
Yes—for walks, peace, learning, and spiritual connection. Many don’t even realize how much it helps them daily.
What kind of wildlife lives there?
Birds, small mammals, butterflies, reptiles—many species rely on this habitat.
Isn’t this a small patch—does it really matter?
Every green patch matters, especially in urban areas. Losing one encourages losing more.
Have you spoken to authorities?
Yes, petitions, meetings, and legal steps have been taken. We’re asking them to reconsider.
What can I do to help?
Join the protest, spread awareness, sign petitions, and talk to your local representatives.
